Specs guide the manufacturing and processing of industrial parts and products by stating quality parameters that must be met. Orders of products or parts with required specs often include Certifications that indicate that the specs have been met.

Specifications most often include requirements for multiple fields, indicating requirements for certain combinations of measurements or tests to be met. Some common examples of spec fields include:
