Download CSV Files

CSV Files, containing data which is tabulated as comma separated values, can be downloaded from a number of interfaces in Steelhead including Accounting reports, Customers, Part Numbers, Work Orders, Sales Orders, etc.

CSV files are commonly used to import data which was generated in Steelhead into another app, such as a spreadsheet program, for further analysis and reporting.

Permission

In order to download data from Steelhead, a User must first have Export:CSV permission allowed. Open the Users Tile, click the employee's name, and under the "Export Permissions" section, check the box for Export:CSV.

As shown in various related articles, CSV file downloads may be performed by clicking a down arrow icon, or an EXPORT or DOWNLOAD button. Here are some typical examples:

Download Chunks

We recommend filtering data by defined parameters such as a limited date range before downloading from any table.
Downloading large amounts of data may cause processing interruptions which can interfere with other operations in Steelhead. As a safeguard, downloads exceeding 2500 line items (or 500 line items if they include margin calculations) are presented and available to download in chunks.

When you have downloaded a CSV file, you can move or open it by navigating to the Downloads folder on your computer, and finding the date-stamped file of the type ".csv".
