        Create a Packing Slip

        Article summary

When parts in a work order are moved to the Shipping Process Node, they will automatically appear on the Shipping Dashboard.

To create a Packing Slip and Shipper for these parts and move them through the shipping process:

        • Select the work order with completed parts that you'd like to create a packing slip for.
        • Click the "Create Packing Slip" button.
          • Enter information in the "Ship Via" box. This is the method you will use to get the parts to the customer (FedEx, UPS, In-House Delivery, Customer Pickup, etc.)
          • Enter a tracking number to share with the customer, if applicable.
          • Enter the date of shipping.
          • Enter the "Bill To:" information for the customer.
            • If the customer is already in the system, this will populate on its own.
            • If the address is not shown or is incorrect, you can create a new one.
          • Enter the "Ship To:" information for the customer if you are shipping the parts.
            • Again, if the customer is already in the system, this will populate on its own.
            • Again, if the address is not shown or is incorrect, you can create a new one.
            • You do not need to enter shipping information if the customer is picking up the parts.
          • Enter a description for the packing slip, if desired.

Once a Shipper is created, use the Shipping Dashboard to move parts!

If you use the "Move Multiple Parts" function on the Work Order screen, you risk losing the ability to complete your Packing Slip or Bill of Lading. You can prevent this by only moving parts on the Shipping Dashboard once they enter the Shipping node.
