Read: Permissions

Features in Steelhead may be restricted or made visible/accessible for any User on the platform. Permissions can be configured on the User Page for each Steelhead User or controlled with Permission Groups.

Individual access to features is controlled through the list of checkboxes on each User's page, accessible by clicking Users in the Workforce Tile of the Homepage, then clicking a User Name to open the page.

In general, "Read" permissions allow a User to view records and data, but are far more restrictive in creating, editing, or deleting data than "Write" permissions are. "Read" and "Write" permissions for one feature are often granted in tandem for Users who need to both view and modify data.

Read: Accounting

Controls whether the User is granted read-only access to the Steelhead Accounting module. Allows viewing of Journal Entries, Accounts, Accounting Reports and Statements, Transactions, Accounting integrations, and related data and documents. The "Read" permission does not allow editing of these records.

Read: All Uploaded Files

Controls whether the User is able to view the file management system from the "Uploaded Files" Tile on the Homepage. This system makes the locating, viewing and downloading of files easy, and is useful for retrieving files if their location isn't known with certainty.

Read: Capacity Planning

Controls whether the User is able to use the Capacity Planning Dashboard to oversee Treatments at different Stations. Allows viewing of Work Order capacity and scheduling information to analyze station utilization. View, group, and filter data in multiple formats.
"Read" permission does not allow User to modify Treatment times, Station configurations, or Work Order schedules. Cannot create or modify Routes.
It's a crucial permission for Users who need to monitor and analyze production capacity and scheduling without making changes to the system.

Read: Carriers

Controls whether the User is able to view the Carriers page. This page will show the delivery services employed in transporting shipments from your Steelhead-powered company, and Customer-Carrier relationships and addresses. The "Read" permission does not allow editing of Carrier records.

Read: Certifications

Controls whether the User is granted read-only access to the Certifications (Certs) feature to view Certs details, reports, history, and PDFs. The "Read" permission does not allow the editing or emailing of Certs.

Read: Contract Review

Controls whether the User is granted read-only access to Contract Reviews. This page shows all pending and completed Contract Reviews and also all pending and completed Work Order Reviews. This permission is essential for users who need to review and monitor contract-related information but don't need to make modifications to the contract review data.

Read: Custom Reporting

Read-only access to Custom Reports and their folders, data, parameters and descriptions. Controls whether the User can view saved queries and reports, view reports in different formats, access report date range functionality, and access report chart schemas and configurations.
Does not allow access to reports that have specific permission requirements.
Does not allow User to create or edit reports, or to modify report permissions.

Read: Customers

Controls whether the User is able to access the Customers Dashboard. Here you can see a list of all the Customers in your Domain, along with related financial records, and access their Contact information along with roles, departments, and more. The "Read" permission does not allow Customer records to be created, edited, or deleted.

Read: Dashboards

Controls whether the User is granted read-only access to Dashboards. The Dashboards page allows summaries of Work Orders at multiple Process Nodes to be viewed from one location. The "Read" permission does not allow Dashboards to be created, modified, or deleted.

Read: Domain

Allows read-only access to the Domain Dashboard. The Domain Settings are where site-wide preferences can be selected, which have a wide range of uses in managing Steelhead.

Read: Insights

Controls whether the User is granted read-only access to the Insights configured reports feature. Reports are available for various features such as Orders, Invoices, Customer Contacts, and Quotes.

Read: Inventory

Controls whether the User is granted read-only access to the Inventory Dashboard. This page shows the amount and cost of all Parts, Treatment Materials, and other items in use by your company.

Read: Invoicing

Controls whether the User is able to access the Invoicing Dashboard. Bills and Invoices can be viewed, along with Customer and payment information, and related documents such as Sales Orders, Work Orders, and Packing Slips.
The "Read" permission does not allow User to create, edit, or delete Invoices, or to modify payment settings, invoice status, or Accounting integration status.

Read: Labor Rates

Controls whether the User is able to view Labor Rates for all Users in your Domain, and see when those rates became effective.
The "Read" permission does not allow User to create or edit Labor Rates.

Read: Locations

Controls whether the User is able to access the Locations Dashboard. This page will show whatever notations have been designated as Locations of a company using Steelhead. Typically the Locations feature is used for Inventory and workflow control such as categorizing various devices, product storage areas, production equipment, shelves, and boxes to be organized in Steelhead for informational purposes.
The "Read" permission does not allow User to create, edit, or delete Locations, or to change Location assignments.

Read: Maintenance

Controls whether the User is able to view the Maintenance Dashboard. This page is used to track and monitor Maintenance events that may reoccur on a schedule. Allows User to view Maintenance Plans, Nodes, and Events. Allows viewing of Equipment information and Sensor integration.
The "Read" permission does not allow the User to create or edit Maintenance Plans or related records.

Read: Outsourcing

Controls whether the User is granted read-only access to the Outsourcing Dashboard and related data records. The outsourcing of Parts can be monitored, and their Packing Slips can be viewed.

Read: Part Numbers

Controls whether the User is granted read-only access to the Part Numbers Dashboard and related data records.

Read: Part Transforms

Controls whether the User is granted read-only access to Assemblies, Cutting, and Casting features and related data records.
This permission is essential for Users who need to view Part Transform information but don't need to make modifications to the configurations.

Read: Payroll

Controls whether the User is granted read-only access to the Payroll feature and associated data records.

Read: Portal

Controls whether the User is granted read-only access to Customer Portal User information, data, and reporting. The "Read" permission does not allow the creation or editing of Portal Users, or changes to the Portal configuration.

Read: Prices

Controls whether the User is granted read-only access to the Prices Dashboard and associated data records. This will show the price per measurement Unit of all products and their Treatments. Provides read-only access to both Product prices and Treatment prices.

Read: Prioritization

Controls whether the User is granted read-only access to the Prioritization feature and associated data. View Priority configuration and settings.

Read: Process

Controls whether the User is granted read-only access to Process Trees and Process Nodes, including their hierarchies and relationships.

Read: Products

Controls whether the User is granted read-only access to Product information, Product pricing, Product Groups, and Product integration with Processes.
This permission is essential for users who need to:

• Review product information
• Look up product details
• Check product pricing
• View product organization
• Access product-related process information
• Review product accounting details

The permission works in conjunction with other permissions to provide a complete view of product-related data while maintaining appropriate access controls.

Read: Purchase Orders

Controls whether the User is granted read-only access to Purchase Orders, and their Line Items, Statuses, and Stages. The Purchasing Dashboard also gives access to Outsourcing and Inventory Control. Used in tandem with other permissions for access to financial data.

Read: Quality Management

Controls whether the User is granted read-only access to the Quality Management Dashboard and associated records. The Dashboard shows items such as Parts on Hold, Nonconformance Reports, Corrective Action Reports, and Return Merchandise Authorizations.

Read: Quotes

Controls whether the User is granted read-only access to the Quotes Dashboard with associated records. This page is a catalog of all the Part Treatment Process requests that have been Ordered or "Quoted" by customers. Used in tandem with other permissions for access to financial data.

Read: Racks

Controls whether the User is granted read-only access to the Racks feature, including hierarchies and assignments. The "Read" permission will not allow creation, editing, or deleting of Racks.

Read: Receiving

Controls whether the User is granted read-only access to the Receiving Dashboard. This page is used to manage the authorization or receiving of ordered Parts and other Items.

Read: Sales Orders

Controls whether the User is granted read-only access to the Sales Orders Dashboard. This page is a catalog of all orders as they have been placed by customers, which in many cases will be separated out into multiple Work Orders. Used in tandem with other permissions for full access.

Read: Schedules

Controls whether the User is granted read-only access to the Schedules Dashboard. Often used in tandem with Prioritization and Process permissions, among others, for specific job duties.

Read: Sensors

Controls whether the User is granted read-only permission for the Sensors Dashboard. Allows access to real-time Sensor readings and historical data, and reporting.
This permission is useful for users who need to monitor sensor data and system status but don't need to make changes to the sensor configuration or data.

Read: Shipping

Controls whether the User is granted read-only access to the Shipping Dashboard. This page is used for managing the shipment of items and drafting Shipment Packing Slips and Bills of Lading.

Read: Specs

Controls whether the User is granted read-only access to view the Specifications (Specs) Dashboard and associated data.

Read: Stations

Controls whether the User is granted read-only access to Stations. Station assignments can be viewed in Work Orders. View Station capacities, locations, calendars, transfer times, and parent/child relationships. In tandem with other permissions, view financial data such as Station labor rates.

Read: Tags

Controls whether the User is granted read-only access to Tags. Tags may be applied to Process and Treatment types in Steelhead, and allow changes made to the Process in one Location to cascade to others.

Read: Timer Dashboard

Controls whether the User is granted read-only access to the Timer Dashboard. This page is a catalog of all Timers that are active in Steelhead, used for measuring activity of Stations and Part Racks, hours someone has worked in a shift, and hours since someone's last shift.

Read: Timesheets

Controls whether the User is granted read-only access to Timesheets, used for tracking the work hours of all users. Will also be able to read payroll information including pay schedules and labor codes. Allows access to financial data with additional permissions.

Read: Treatments

Controls whether the User is granted read-only access to the Treatments Dashboard. This page is a catalog of all Process Treatments that run in Steelhead.

Read: Trucks

Controls whether the User is granted read-only access to Trucks records. This page is a catalog of all trucks registered at your Steelhead-powered company. Trucks can be scheduled from the Trucking Dashboard in Shipping.

Read: Units

Controls whether the User is granted read-only access to the Units Dashboard, which is incorporated with Inventory, pricing, Part Number measurements, Shipping, Spec Parameters, and other features.

Read: Users

Controls whether the User is granted read-only access to the Users Dashboard. This allows access to view User permissions and settings, along with time sheets, labor rates, employment records, and other information about other Users in your Domain.

Read: Vendors

Controls whether the User is granted read-only access to the Vendors Dashboard. Vendor information also populates other modules such as Inventory and Purchasing.

Read: Work Order

Controls whether the User is granted read-only access to Work Order information. Work Order data which can be viewed on the Work Order Dashboard is also related to Workboards, Part Numbers, Processes, Prioritization, Reporting, and other modules.

Read: Workboards

Controls whether the User is granted read-only access to the Workboards Dashboard. This page is where Parts and their associated Processes will be managed, worked, and transferred between Treatment Stations.
