Production Batches

    Production Batches

    Article summary

Production Batches are used to group and track related Parts during processing. When Parts are Batched, a Batch Number allows them to be combined on Certifications and production reports. With Domain Settings enabled, batches can be created individually from the Work Orders Dashboard, or created automatically when Parts exit a Racking Node.

    Domain Settings

There are two Domain Settings that affect Production Batching, accessible under the Domain Tile from the Steelhead Homepage. Refresh your browser after making any change to Domain Settings.

    • Enable Production Batching, when toggled on, allows Parts to be added to Batches from Work Orders.
    • Auto Batch Leaving Racking, when toggled on, automates the creation of a Batch, with an auto-generated Batch Number, whenever a group of Parts is unracked.

    Creating and Viewing Production Batches

From an open Work Order, Parts can be Batched by clicking the down-arrow next to the MOVE PARTS button and selecting Batch Parts.

Create a Production Batch by entering a unique name, or select an existing Batch from the drop-down list to add the Parts.

On the Work Orders Dashboard, view all Batches by clicking this icon in the upper right:

From the opened list of Production Batches, you can create a new Batch with a Name and Description, and click in to view associated Active/Scrapped/Completed Parts, Work Orders, and Sales Orders. Batches can be edited, and searched or filtered to view.

The Production Batch feature can be used for tracking related Parts through processing stages, helping to manage Inventory and Work Orders, monitoring production progress, and Quality control and traceability.
