Predictive Inventory Usage
Predictive Inventory is a feature used in Steelhead to estimate or predict ways that resources will be used in scheduled work.
Predictive Inventory Usage will need to be enabled in Domain Settings. From the Domain page, scroll down to the correct option under "Inventory":
Locating Predictive Inventory
The feature is located in the "Predicted Usage" button in the Inventory Item Details Page:
Setting Up Predicted Usage
Each inventory item, (in this example powder coat colors) has its own set of predicted usage options.
- These options are used to specify how each color should be used
- The total predicted usage of a color is divided out into usage functions, one for every part number that is treated
- The usage functions are edited with Power Tools, the low code of Steelhead that allows companies to make more advanced changes to the software.
Add Dropdown Pair
To add a pair of options to the menu, press the button that says "+ ADD INVENTORY ITEM/PART NUMBER PAIR". This will put the two dropdown menus you need first to the interface, and can be used again later if needed.
Related Part Numbers
This button will add an assortment of suggested part numbers to the interface. These will be selected by looking at part numbers that share a listed Quote, Work Order, or other usage prediction containing the target Inventory Item.
Predicted Usage Mode
This switch at the top right of the menu is for enabling power tools. This will allow you to specify exactly the treatment details wished for every combination of Inventory Item and Part Number.
Usage Functions
In the menu opened by the button labeled "EDIT USAGE FUNCTION" is a Power Tools editing terminal that can be useful for altering how each station will process the parts treated at it. This menu is intended for TypeScript-trained users. Next to the button is another one for running specified functions.
- Steelhead will allow users to deplete Inventory to a station
- This allows one to track the active inventory in a station at a time
- (ex. what acid was in tank 1 at time x)
- Supports adding more (topping off) and draining and refilling a station with an inventory item
- The “active” inventory in the station is all the depletions that have occurred in the station
- Added some limited support for deleting inventory transactions
- This will allow deleting accidental depletes to station and other inventory transactions.
